Interesting Topics For PresentationsWhat kind of interesting topics for presentations do you like to see? What types of topics make you cringe when presented to the public in public speaking events? What kinds of topics will you love to hear?I believe there are very few boring topics for presentations and the topic I personally enjoy is one that I like to call 'Over-The-Top Entertainment'. By over-the-top, I mean using the language of the tongue in a way that is not polite but fun. It's the reason I enjoyed this topic when we were doing the public speaking training at the School of Public Health. We went with the classic Christmas song, 'Deck the Halls'.How does one choose interesting topics for presentations? One of the best ways to determine what types of interesting topics will please a crowd is to write down some ideas. If you don't write them down, you'll be too tempted to reuse your notes. Therefore, I recommend writing them down right then and there, and then choose a few idea s to discuss with others at your next meeting. You'll be surprised at how much you can pull together and still make a presentation that everyone loves.First, decide what topics you want to talk about. Your topic should be so fascinating that it will make all of your friends laugh and want to know more. Then you'll need to have the topics written down so that you can go over them with others at your next meeting. And before you know it, your ideas for interesting topics for presentations are flowing! In fact, you may come up with more topics than you had before you started your brainstorming session.To come up with ideas for interesting topics for presentations, I use what I call my 'ten minute box' for brainstorming. I first come up with ten 'non-keys' for topics that I want to get out of my system.I then come up with ten 'key phrases'category X' that will represent the key words or phrases that I want to cover in my presentation. For example, in our Christmas present management cla ss, I considered the phrases 'Christmas Gifts That Help'Christmas Gifts That Can Be Used Again.' From there, I constructed my list of ten topics to cover in my Christmas Present presentation. And of course, to have my ideas available, I needed to include my personal lists of categories. This also helped me brainstorm the more interesting ideas before I came up with them.Another big problem for me when I was starting out as a public speaker is that I'm not used to thinking outside the box when preparing a presentation. This is why I recommend having many different lists that you can refer to for the best possible topics for presentations.After all, most people don't have the patience or the time to sit through an hour-long presentation with unusual thoughts being presented. Having a good mix of topics for presentations will keep a crowd on their toes and interested for the whole presentation.
